Warning of more gun deaths under One Nation
National Coalition for Gun Control chairman ROLAND BROWNE says Australia will suffer
more shooting deaths under One Nation's gun policies.
One Nation advocates the right of Australians to possess and use firearms.
Mr BROWNE says the 1996 gun laws following the Port Arthur massacre have made Australia
safer and are the HOWARD government's greatest monument.
Under new uniform laws that tightened licensing and storing requirements, semi-automatic
firearms were banned and bought back through a $500 million program.
Mr BROWNE says since the new laws there's been no mass shooting.
